Ryder hooks up a scanner that doesn’t work as 333 keys up on 492.525MHz. I could easily overpower his transmission through my base station radio. Turns out its an offshore radiotelephone frequency that is monitored by the Federal Gov’t. Not to be used without a license. The wideband signal probably could not be received by a narrowband scanner…

FRS Radio Motorola

Three FRS radios. Two are identical with 22 channels and 39 subs and the other one is 14 channels with 39 subs…. That is to say the sub channels go from 0 to 38…. I know they are sold with a statement of 38 subs but the zero is transmit friendly too so I guess I am right.

1288 Mile 10 Meter Hand Held Ham Radio Contact by WD0AKX

In this video I am using my Magnum 1012 SSB, AM and FM hand held dual band 10 and 12 meter portable with the LRD 1012 long duck antenna. There is also an easy radio mod for 11 meters if desired although I have not done this. Here you will see me make a contact with WM9V in Fla. I have been making contacts all over the states just standing outside in the back yard using AM, SSB, and FM modes. I can copy CW just fine but this radio will not TX in CW mode at this time. I may try to mod it later for this if I find any info on that.

Unboxing Motorola TLKR T8 (PMR446 radio)

Unboxing of my new Motorola TLKR T8, which is replacing my older radios. The package contains: ¤ two TLKR T8 radios with belt clips. ¤ charging cradle with two inserts for it (for battery only charging). ¤ two rechargeble NiMH battery packs. (Can be operated on 4xAAA batterys) ¤ manuals.
