My Hand Held Radio Collection From Over The Years
These are some portable hand held radios that ended up in my collection over the years including a couple of early Motorola HT-200 radios from the early 1960’s. Most of them are not that special but you might enjoy seeing some of them if you enjoy radio like I do.

Albion CB Heroes Podcast #11 – Walkie Talkie Testing.
Ryder hooks up a scanner that doesn’t work as 333 keys up on 492.525MHz. I could easily overpower his transmission through my base station radio. Turns out its an offshore radiotelephone frequency that is monitored by the Federal Gov’t. Not to be used without a license. The wideband signal probably could not be received by a narrowband scanner…

1288 Mile 10 Meter Hand Held Ham Radio Contact by WD0AKX
In this video I am using my Magnum 1012 SSB, AM and FM hand held dual band 10 and 12 meter portable with the LRD 1012 long duck antenna. There is also an easy radio mod for 11 meters if desired although I have not done this. Here you will see me make a contact with WM9V in Fla. I have been making contacts all over the states just standing outside in the back yard using AM, SSB, and FM modes. I can copy CW just fine but this radio will not TX in CW mode at this time. I may try to mod it later for this if I find any info on that.

Emergency Communications: Motorola Talkabout MR355R FRS/GMRS radios
Just another installment in my series about emergency communications. These are pretty neat little radios, price is right, and fairly versitle. Defenitly get my 2 thumbs up. Im in no way a communications expert, so this is just my review from a consumer perspective. These offer some complex features that arent available on other radios like the use of repeaters, but they are fairly simple to operate. List of features: www.motorola.com Repeater Tower directory: www.mygmrs.com

Mauldulator on walkie talkie 3
This is the Mauldulator board driving a GE 3-5980a. It shows the extreme audio bandwidth, and envelope growth. Sorry for the low audio. The Maululator can achieve up to +300% if the carrier is turned down, but it would be very bad sounding on a non synchronous receiver, and it takes too much dynamic headroom.
