I bought a Kodak Zi6 digital camcorder on Woot. Some people who got theirs posted on the Woot Community board that they got poor battery performance on their new Zi6 camcorder. I told them the problem is the batteries, not the Zi6. I referred them to my experience with Sanyo’s eneloop rechargeable batteries and said I would be posting this video to validate my point, that with eneloop batteries you get great performance. (As it turns out, this test showed I got two hours of shooting video on one set of freshly recharged eneloop batteries. That’s great IMHO). Eneloop batteries are outstanding in terms of holding a charge and performance. Without getting into technical stuff, the three main features of Sanyo eneloop rechargeable batteries are: 1. They discharge at about 10% A YEAR. Compare that with regular rechargeable batteries that discharge at about 10% a month, even if sitting unused in device. 10% a month versus 10% a year. No comparison. 2. They have a long shelf life. Regular rechargeables get weak at about 500 charge/discharge cycles. These last about 1000 cycles. 3. As the video shows, eneloop batteries power devices longer than regular rechargeable batteries. So if you have any electronic device where you are disappointed with the performance on batteries, consider getting eneloop batteries. Of course a big benefit of eneloop batteries is that using them is good for the environment. Bottom line is that you will be using and discarding fewer batteries than before …
