The video shows the extremely good quality from Varta rechargeable batteries. The used cell (1,2 V NiMh) was already used for 2 days in a LED circuit but had so much energy storage capacity that it could easily make the filament from a 12 Volt lamp glow for a long time after this. Even when I shortcutted the battery it did not loose much charge, so I could not get this cell exhausted in an easy or normal way, like other (cheap, cheaper or other brand) NiMh cells. By the way: this test is a good quality test for 1,2 V small rechargeable cells. Use a 6 Volt bycycle lamp for 800 mA-hour cells and a 12 V (5 Watt) lamp for all 1,2 cells with a capacity above 800 mA-hour. When the filament keeps glowing for a long time the quality from the cell is good. Of course charge the cell first and keep watching the temperature! Disconnect the cell when it gets hot and/or use a resistor or lamp with a higher Ohms resistance when it gets hot. By the way: I had the same good experiences with other (types of) rechargeable cells from varta, they “always” work and keep their energy well stored.
